| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2025 | 11 It appears that the dreary, cold days of winter are behind us. Soon we'll be enjoying our patios and outdoor spaces. With that in mind, let's take a look at the condition of our house paint. I encourage all of you with homes due for painting to get a copy of the brochure with approved colors and get estimates now. Many painting contractors are booked up months in advance so it may take a while to get your project scheduled. All exterior painting must be approved by the Master Architectural Committee (MAC) via an application. We meet the second and fourth Tuesday morning of each month. Applications need to be submitted by the previous Tuesday of the scheduled meeting. In order to expedite your paint project, do not submit an application with non-approved colors. It will be denied and delay your project. All paint projects are inspected upon completion. Please do not submit an application for approved colors, and then paint a different color than the ones approved, as you will be required to re-paint the non approved colors. The color of your front door is something that you may select, keeping in mind that black and any color with a light ref lective surface of less than 15 percent is for wrought iron surfaces only. The front door color that you select should be in harmony with surrounding structures and not detract from the attractiveness of the community. The purpose of the MAC is, in part, to help ensure property values are maintained via a harmonious appearance of our community. That's why this committee oversees paint, landscaping, patio covers, lighting, artificial turf and anything associated with the outward appearance of your home, including yard ornaments. ~ Lyla Wolden, member, Master Architectural Committee Master Architectural The Switchback concert was a huge success. Two very talented guys performed a variety of music from Irish, folk, rock to country music. They ended the concert to a standing ovation from very enthusiastic attendees. Bingo Advisory We have completed many changes to all the libraries. We keep 20-year-old and newer books, except biographies, sports, military, classics, and non-fiction, which we maintain regardless of publication date. The North and South Clubhouses have hardbacks in romance, mystery, and general fiction. We brought classics to the North Clubhouse. Health and wellness books are available in the North and South clubhouses. We have purchased more books and puzzles for the collection. Colored stickers will be used to denote genres such as mystery (white), romance (pink), general fiction (yellow), wellness & inspiration (light blue), western (orange); large print (green); classics (medium blue); non-fiction (red); audio books (purple). Books will no longer be stamped to a particular library and can be returned to any Clubhouse. See the changes and browse our collections; nothing is more pleasurable than reading a good book. ~ John Hasha, hashajohn@gmail.com Library Advisory
