Please keep remembrances to 400 words and include one recent, high- resolution photo. Susan Snopek was born on December 20, 1931, and died on February 27 this year. She escaped from Hungary during the Uprising of 1956 and lived a very healthy life in the United States. She and her husband George moved to Sun Lakes in 2003 and were very active in the community. They loved going on cruises and playing Bocce Ball. After George passed away in 2022, Susan continued playing bridge four times a week. She will be missed by many. Vince Ramirez January 18, 1933 – February 16, 2025 We are saddened to share the peaceful passing of Vince Ramirez, a longtime member of our community, who passed away at home on February 16, 2025, at the age of 92 with his beloved wife, Lilly, and son David, by his side. Born in Los Angeles in January 1933, Vince lived a full and vibrant life. He married the love of his life, Lilly, in July 1953, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. They raised two children, Diane and David, and began their married life in Monterey Park, California. At the age of 55, Vince and Lilly retired early and moved into Sun Lakes Country Club, where they have lived for the past several decades. Retirement didn't slow them down — in fact, it opened the door to even more adventures. Vince loved golfing, caring for his home and garden with Lilly, and traveling near and far. In earlier years, they crisscrossed the country with church friends in campers and motor homes. Later, they enjoyed Sun Lakes organized trips abroad and made cherished memories visiting their daughter, Diane, in several European countries. Vince was a devoted grandfather to three grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to six. He was also a loyal friend, a loving husband, and an active member of both the community and his local church for over 20 years. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and friendly nature. Many knew him simply as "one of the good ones" — a true gentleman who made others feel at ease. Vince's presence brightened many lives, and his passing leaves a deep void for those who knew and loved him. We take comfort in knowing he left this world peacefully, surrounded by love, in the home he cherished. We thank all who have reached out with kind words and memories — they have meant the world to our family during this time. Doris Louise Michaels , age 98, passed away March 7, 2025, at her home in Sun Lakes where she lived since 1997. Originally she lived in the classic homes and belonged to a group called the classy ladies. They met for lunch monthly. Doris was active in many clubs over the years and won many awards for her needlework, often displayed in the Main Clubhouse. She loved to travel and was a great fan of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. She attended many games over the years and even the World Series in 2002! One of her favorite pastimes was to play the slots at Morongo Casino and she was able to do this once a week up until her fall in January. Doris is survived by three children, Pam Michaels, Bill Michaels (Chris), Michael Michaels (Connie). She was blessed with six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
