By Edith Reed, EPAC Secretary We would like to talk about a couple of items that were discussed during the "Are You Ready?" presentation by EPAC. The first item is the fire suppression blanket for home, car, camping and other uses. Basically, if a fire does not have oxygen, it can't burn. If you cover the fire and deny it oxygen, it should go out. The brand under consideration is the TIME APPIS Four Pack Fire Blanket. The next item for consideration is the small canister fire extinguishers. They can be bought one at a time or a three-pack. They are much lighter and easier to handle than a regular fire extinguisher and do well is smaller situations. One of the items found on Amazon was the AmzBoom Three- Pack Fire Extinguisher. It is a small A, B, C, K fire extinguisher with a mounting bracket. All of these items are reasonably priced. For your information: • Class A fires involve ordinary household combustibles, i.e., curtains, bedding, soft materials. • Class B fires involve flammable liquids and gases. • Class C fires are electrical fires. • Class K fires are cooking fires that involve fats and oils. The idea of these items is to keep them close at hand; in the kitchen, car, garage, BBQ, or wherever you might have a flare up. Amazon is a great place to shop, and they have a huge multitude of items for you to look over. The mentioned items were just examples. Shop, read, and get what you think is the best for you. Any questions? EPAC members are ready to assist. SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MAY 2025 5 EPAC Essentials
