On March 21, the Solera Diamond Valley Board Members,
Committee Members, and Lifestyle Volunteers were celebrated
and treated to lunch and a gift of appreciation. Robert Vise and
Linda Weiss were given plaques to thank them for their tireless
work on the Board for the past two terms.
Volunteers are the backbone to things running smoothly here
at Solera. If you aren't already volunteering somewhere, we hope
you will give a bit of your time in any capacity. To help out before
or during a Lifestyle event, attend the Volunteer meetings on the
third Wednesday of each month at 1 pm or sign up in the lobby. To
help with restocking books in the library, contact Mary McKernan
(info in the back of this magazine).
Most of us who are retired can usually find an hour or two each
month to help out, but it's not even necessary to do that much.
Personally, I like to volunteer because I know it allows all of us to
continue having an active lifestyle. And, on a personal level, I have
gotten to know many of our residents better through volunteering
and now I can call them friends.
