What better way to spend a misty cold morning than with
friends from the Pickleball Club!
Yes, it was cold but at 7:45 am on May 3rd, the 2025 Spring
Tournament participants were on the courts warming up to
begin at 8 am. We had seven women and eight men in separate
Round Robin style tournaments. Everyone played their best
and I saw so many amazing shots. Good job pickleballers! It
always helps to be cheered on by other club members, so thank
you to all who came out, even for a short visit.
When the last dink or slam down the middle meant the end
of each tournament, here are the champs (drumroll please…)
Cindi Pena-Buck for the women's and Mike Hurlock for the
men's. Congratulations! We also recognized in second place,
Shirely Ferruzzi for the women's and Tom Baker for the men's.
And nally, in third place, Christie Clarke for the women's and
Dave Osborn for the men's. Congratulations to our second and
third place winners. We also want to thank all the players who
participated, some for their rst tournament! A special thank
you to Louis Cherpin for keeping our scoreboards accurate and
Jeannie LaFlore for bringing the donuts!
Our SDV Pickleball Club continues to grow and there is
always room for more, so stop dinking around and check the
