42 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JUNE 2025 | PLAY PICKLEBALL! Did I get your attention? Good, because we are looking for new players to join our group and we think YOU would be a great fit. Recently, two of our favorite players, GAYLEEN and TED moved away to Oregon. We had a nice going away party for them over at the Oak Valley golf course restaurant. The food was great and we had a good time saying goodbye. We play Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 7:30 am ish. Some people come a little earlier if the sun is up and it's warm (and it doesn't even need to be warm if the sun is up). We usually quit about 10 or 10:30 am, although some people will stay later if the weather is nice. As you can see from the pictures, we will play in some chilly or foggy conditions. Before you come to play, please watch a couple YouTube videos. It will be very instructive. You can quickly get acquainted with the rules and the basic skills needed. If you're not sure you want to play, come join us and we will lend you a paddle for the morning. Court shoes are highly recommended, as running shoes do not have the side to side support you need when playing pickleball. Our group is very friendly and will help you increase your knowledge of the rules and help you improve your skills. Most importantly, you will meet some very friendly people and get a good aerobic workout. PLAY PICKLEBALL! Sometimes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays, we will PLAY PICKLEBALL at 4 or 6 pm depending on the weather and people's availability.
