34 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JUNE 2025 | 1 Evil RV What do you get when you cross a 1972 Winnebago Brave motorhome body with a 2007 Isuzu cargo truck chassis? You get 1 Evil RV of course. Seen recently at the April 12 Solera Car Show, this show stopper caught the eye of many people attending the car show, including this RV retro enthusiast. The brainchild behind this RV mechanical masterpiece is a gentleman named Luis Estrada. If the last name sounds familiar to some Solerans, it's because Luis is the father-in-law of Claudia Estrada who works in the Solera HOA office as an Administrative Assistant. Luis is a Marine Corp veteran and trained electrician. Luis wanted to design a motorhome that he could take to the desert. He also needed a motorhome with some real towing power. Inspired to create something unique and different from other motorhomes, Luis matted a 1972 Winnebago Brave 21-foot Class A motorhome body to a 21-foot Isuzu Cargo truck chassis. The RV is powered by an Isuzu 5.2L inline four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 215 horsepower at 2500 rpm. The engine is matted to an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. The motorhome gets a respectable fifteen miles to a gallon of diesel fuel. The RV weighs in at 22,000 gross pounds. Luis and his family did all the work themselves. Diamond platting gives the rig a unique look, inside and out. The 20-inch-wide tires with chrome wheels stand-out. The shark tooth front grill gives the front end a menacing look. Check out the unique roof top spoiler. I've never seen a roof top spoiler on a motorhome before. Inside the motorhome, the customization continues. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. The RV sleeps two people comfortably. Luis squeezed in plenty of storage space for essential camping supplies. The comfortable front seats beg you to take them on a nice long road trip. 1 Evil RV is a registered motorhome, hence the personalized license plate of 1 Evil RV. This rig has been everywhere from Pismo Beach, California to Lubbock, Texas, gaining a thumbs up approval from passing RV's and motorists alike. 1 Evil RV has been a winner at several car shows. Next time you see 1 Evil RV, give her a thumbs up and a friendly wave. Hopefully, Solera residents will see 1 Evil RV at next year's Solera car show. ~ Ron Monroe, RV Group Leader RV GROUP Photos by Lane Joel
