32 | OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2025 | Club W Club W, originally "e Widows Club," is a relatively new club in OH. We are so proud that our membership has gone from a small group of 10, at Joann Viner's home to over 100 members, meeting in Abravanel Hall. Although the original name of the club may bring sadness to mind, that is not what we are about. Our goal is to be there for our members in every way. rough sad times and denitely fun times. We have a luncheon the fourth ursday of every month at places such as e Village Pie Shoppe, Oceanside Broiler, Pegah and sometimes Chinese or Italian cuisine spots. We even provide rides when needed. On the third Saturday of each month, we have meetings with entertainment, wonderful speakers and refreshments with Julie Baumer planning the programs and Sunny Frowein setting up the goodies. April's program was Laurel Glover, with her inspirational story of overcoming physical adversity. She lost her hands and feet to a genetic condition, but still drives, swims and participates in many activities. And most of the time with a smile on her face. In May, we had an interactive program on the Interpersonal Inuence Inventory, which provides information on four personality types and what motivates them. In June we will have Kelly Allan, founder and president of Caregivers Networks Club. She is the bridge between people needing care and a vast array of resources, from personal caregivers to agencies and facilities. She works with the CERT caregivers' group here and also plans an annual picnic in October. So, join us folks. If we haven't met you yet, we'd like to. Members are asked to bring a dish to share. is is a chance for many of us to spend time with other pet lovers we don't oen see on any regular basis.
