Welcome to June! June is a month full of sunshine, celebration, and community activity. As we head into summer, here are some things to keep in mind and look forward to. Did you know the Summer Solstice happens this month, which is the longest day of the year? Also, June is named aer Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage, which may explain why it's such a popular wedding time. June 19 is Freedom Day or Juneteenth, celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. It's also a month to honor and celebrate fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, and great-grandfathers. So don't forget two important dates to mark on your calendar: Sunday, June 15, for Father's Day, and June 14, for Flag Day. Fly your ag proudly! e Board of Directors has been busy installing new members and appointing ocers. We're thrilled to welcome two new members, Paul Barr and Dan Ramos. Congratulations to Barbra Balser, President, Mary Reyna, Vice President, Cli Post, Treasurer, and Fred Kydd, Secretary. As the new Board begins its work, we recognize that planning for the future is an important responsibility, and two groups have been tasked with this future planning. One is the Ad-hoc Budget committee working to cra the 2026 Budget. Our Treasurer, Cli Post, along with committee chairs, has been hard at work craing a new budget, carefully considering rising costs in areas like landscaping, plant replacement, and water usage, just to name a few. It's a process that requires diligence and attention to detail. Another committee tasked with planning for the future is a newly formed committee entitled the Capital Improvement Committee. is committee is looking at long-term projects that will enhance the value of the community in the future and improve the quality of our amenities. is is important work that deserves a big thank you to everyone involved for your time and eort. Looking ahead, be sure to save the date for fun social events. Be on the lookout for Mamma Mania Dinner Show with all of your favorite ABBA hits on August 8th, and Oktoberfest with the delight of an Oompah band on September 27. More details to come, so be sure to mark your calendars — you won't want to miss these! Wishing everyone a joyful June that includes patriotic and family celebrations.
