If you are interested in learning about tennis and getting started playing, or it's been awhile since you last played, please join us. Folks are on the courts most mornings, 9 am in colder weather and 8 am when it's going to get warm! Tennis Club is fun and friendly club plays single and double formats every Wednesday morning at 8 am in summer, 9 am in winter, and twice a month in the evening at 5 pm. Normal play times are usually an hour or less. Come by and take a look on Wednesdays at the Plaza behind e Lodge. Cornhole I cannot believe it is June already. e year is almost half over. My exercise routine has been a bit of "start and stop" this year and believe me I can feel it during the "stop" times. It doesn't take long at this age to feel a decline in strength and mobility. But exercise also aects more than our physical health… An article in the AARP Bulletin titled "ink on Your Feet – To help improve your brain's health, lace up your sneakers and hit the road" lists ve benets of walking: • Walking may help you grow new brain cells. • Walking may boost your creativity. • Walking may enhance your mood. • Walking may reduce the risk of cognitive decline. • Walking may decrease brain-damaging stress. Walk Fit Class is a good way to start. e class consists of nine dierent Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. e easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. e complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Walk Fit Do you have an interest in learning to play pickleball? e Pickleball Club would like you to learn foundational skills and join the fun. "YouTube: Pickleball" is a great resource for pickleball fundamentals. Saturday mornings are a good time to watch the game being played. Playtime begins at 7:30 am. Stay safe on the court and come prepared. Pickleball Attire: • Court shoes (no street shoes allowed) • Proper dress attire - comfortable gym clothes • Eye protection • Pickleball paddle (we provide the balls) • Bring water! Evening pickleball playtime begins at 6 pm Monday through ursday. e evening pickleball players get together every third Sunday of the month at 5 pm in e Lodge Activity Room to enjoy a potluck dinner and hone their competitive skills playing the fun board game, Sequence. Pickleball Bingo Join us every Wednesday night for fun and games. Doors open at 5 pm for residents and 5:15 for outside guests. We start the games at 6 pm, with a break around 7:30 pm. Bingo is over at 9 pm. It is the best value in town . It is only $7 for the game and if you need a dabber, they are only $2.
