In the last ve years of calling this community home away from home, I've witnessed some truly remarkable things — things that go far beyond the beauty of the grounds or the amenities we enjoy. What's stood out the most are the people. e neighbors who become friends. e residents who discover new passions or rekindle old ones. e quiet courage that blooms when someone steps outside their comfort zone. e beauty is in the human spirit. I've seen people surprise themselves. One neighbor, once unsure if they had the nerve to get up and sing, now counts down the days to TGIF Karaoke rst Friday of each month). Another resident — well into his 80s — is now organizing his next piano concert for the community (November 2025). Isn't that incredible? It's a reminder that purpose doesn't end at retirement. Sometimes, it just changes shape. My favorite event? Music on the Plaza. ere's something special about watching people relax, let go, and just enjoy the moment — dancing, laughing, connecting. In those moments, I feel such deep satisfaction. Being an Activities Director might not come with fancy titles or spotlight moments, but to me, it's a gi. I get to be part of the story. A story of lives worth living, every day. To those wondering what's next in their own chapters — know that you're not alone. Many of us are navigating this question. But the answer might be closer than we think. It could be found in picking up a paintbrush, joining a book club, or just showing up on a Friday night to cheer someone on. As for me, I'm learning to listen to the dreams I once set aside. Because anything can happen, at any age.
