FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2025 7 This month we continue with the 20th Anniversary celebration events and we're bringing in the card groups to do it. Perhaps you remember way back in the "olden days" of Four Seasons when we held "in-house club competitions" and we held an awards ceremony with trophies for the winners. Well, we've moved away from entire club competitions to Senior Oldympics and now a card group competition. The card groups are being invited to hold their own competitions during their regular play times during the first week of June. The competition results are due back to me by Monday, June 9 so we can get your trophies for our awards ceremony to be held during the intermission of our Spring Loggia Concert on Saturday, May 28. We will be recognizing first, second, and third place winners (or teams) in each group. If you want your card group to be part of the festivities, please feel free to send me an email at Cindy.graves@fsresidential.com. If you are not in a card group, but want to come to a really hoppin' dance, the showcased band for the Spring Loggia Concert will be the super popular MLC band. We will also give two door-less prize tickets to those who are wearing their 20th Anniversary T-shirt; everyone else will receive just one. For those of you wishing that you had a 20th Anniversary T-shirt, we will be selling shirts again at the Fourth of July event. Hope to see you there! Speaking of the Fourth of July, I am so excited to be sharing some of the upcoming details with you! The theme this year is "Red, White, and Country" and man oh man, do we have an unbelievably amazing country band playing! Be looking in the Activities Blast for a commercial advertisement which will show a "sizzle reel" of the band. This year we have an incredible band that will play from 12 noon until 3 pm in the Ballroom. The Bistro will be holding a Firecracker BBQ, cooking up grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for purchase. We are looking to you guys to provide the potluck side-dishes and desserts. The sign-up sheet will be on The Lodge credenza starting on June 14. On the Fourth of July, the burgers and dogs will start cooking at 11:30 am and the side-dish and dessert buffet will open up at 12 noon. The HOA will provide paperware, utensils, snacks, drinks, and tons of fun! Here's another great news f lash: The Queen of Cornhole, Karen Staublin and her team, will be running the Fourth of July Cornhole Competitions for anyone who wants to try their hand at this entertaining game. There will be prizes awarded too. Along with cornhole, we have an old-fashioned country cake-walk. You can sign-up to participate in both of those activities on the day of the event. There will also be pool party fun at The Lodge for you water enthusiasts. The Lodge will close at 7 pm and folks wanting to continue with the festivities are encouraged to go up to The Summit to watch the city fireworks. Let's go back to explain some June events: On Wednesday, June 11 at 6 pm in the RCN, we will hold the Mandatory Craft Boutique Vendor Meeting and Table Lottery. If you are interested in being a vendor at our upcoming Craft Boutique on Saturday, Oct. 25, you need to be sure you attend that meeting or send someone in your stead. The Fall Craft Boutique is hugely popular, so we don't expect there will be any extra tables after the meeting. Please bring a $5 check (no cash) for each table purchased (two-maximum, based on availability). On Thursday, June 12, the Handbell Choir is back with a humdinger of a concert. They continue to present such beautiful bell arrangements; it's such a delight to hear them ring! The Ballroom doors will open at 5:30 pm and the concert will start at 6 pm. There is no price for admission and everyone is welcome. Friday, June 13, the wonderful Westbrooks are back again with a Disco Dance starting at 6 pm also in the Ballroom. Feel free to dress in your favorite disco-wear and dancing shoes. Everyone enjoys their events, even those that don't like to dance or aren't able. Their goal is to make these events fun for everyone, and they certainly succeed! Finally, check out Mark Lassen's article about the 2025 Amphitheater Concert series. You'll find out that the Rod Stewart Band is our first entertainer on Sunday, June 22 at 7 pm. This is going to be great! Mark will give you all of the details in his article. We're off to a fabulous summer! ~ Cindy Graves Activities Director's Report
