Our very first party of 2025 on the Lanai was an absolute blast! With Dan Eller and the Cool Rush band rocking the night, it's honestly hard to put into words how much fun we had. The "Summer Bash" theme had members and guests dancing under the stars at our first outdoor dance of the year, right next to the sparkling pool! Cool Rush, one of San Diego's top classic rock bands, kept the energy high with hits from the 70s through the 2000s. If you didn't know every song, you at least knew how to move to the beat! Our fabulous Doo-Wop board members hosted the night, and simple refreshments — coffee, tea, and water were on hand. As always, our popular BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) setup was a hit! Partygoers kept saying how great it is to bring exactly what you like to eat and drink. No long lines, no cold food, no surprises; just what you want, when you want it! If you love to dance, enjoy live music, or just want to hang out with a great group of people, it's time to join the Doo-Wop Disco and Dance Club! Membership is just $10 for the whole year. To sign up, just download a membership form online, or pick one up at the front desk. Once complete, just drop it in the Doo-Wop folder at the front desk with your $10 check, and you're all set! Hope to see you on the dance floor! Written by Tom Harwood, Doo-Wop Club President 14 | OHCC LIVING | JULY 2025 | Doo Wop Please join us for Line Dancing Fun and the magic of music. My forehead has slid down to my eyelids. My cheeks have slid down to my neck. I believe you now call them jowls. My double chin has doubled. My girls are heading south at lighting speed. My stomach slid down and now laps over my belt. My butt got confused and slid down to my thighs. I can no longer see my knees. I know they are there because I'm still able to walk. If I jump off a three-story building roof and I flap my upper arms fast enough, I'm sure I will land safely. That's not all folks. My ears, nose and feet seem to get bigger each day. My feet used to be size five and are now size seven. I cannot take my eyes off of my old body. Maybe if I get my glasses I'll look better. Nope, that certainly didn't work. I keep staring and I wonder what my body reminds me of. My oh my, then it came me. Good Grief, I'm a wrinkled brown spotted pear with legs. Time for a huge glass of wine or maybe two. Thought for the day: Life is like a bath… The longer you're in it the wrinklier you get. Written by Carole with an E Line Dancers
