"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Please join Team Sunshine at our next meeting - Mon., Aug. 4 at 10:30 am in the Ballroom (we are dark for July holiday). The June Sunshine Kindness Award was presented to Jeanne and Hyatt Baker, residents since April 2024 and who have already contributed so much to their new community! As an admirer of Team Sunshine's "caring connection" mission of mailing personalized cards to residents in times of need, Jeanne leveraged her creative talents by gifting an entire box of hand-made cards to Team Sunshine. The cards were made especially beautiful by including exotic photos from Jeanne and Hyatt's many trips to far- away places. Hyatt, a highly skilled tennis player, has established a tennis clinic for interested residents. He has also joined Four Seasons Players as Assistant Director for their upcoming June performance. Hyatt is also passionate about veterans support. Our Health Fair is a popular annual event, thanks to a brilliant collaboration between FirstService Residential, Team Sunshine, and of course our amazing collection of local health and wellness resources. Team Sunshine Cancer Support Meeting Next meeting is July 8 at 10 am at the Culton home (8190 Parry Drive). This amazing support group (currently 30+ members) is facilitated thanks to VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) and is further supported by well- established presenters such as Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center (https://michellesplace.org/). Team Sunshine Caregiver Support Meeting – Note Recent Location Change Next meeting is Aug. 7 at 10:30 am at the Beers home (667 Zaharias Circle). This support group provides an opportunity for caregivers to take time for themselves and to meet others in similar situations. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month.
