| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2025 | 31 Horseshoes We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Here we are in the midst of summer with temperatures very warm, especially if you are trying to play Bocce. Good thing we had our playoff games in May. It was a nice mild day with eight teams competing with a double elimination strategy. Lose once but you still have a chance to keep playing unless you lose one more game. That was pretty much all the strategy on Sun., May 18, but only one team would claim the top team for our 2025 Bocce season. If you were lucky enough to stay in the game with only two teams battling to reveal the top team, you were there probably six hours to get that far. If you lost that game, it still took you six hours but, you got the title of second place. Still a pretty good reward considering there was 18 teams that played this year. So now for the winners. Second place was Toby's gang, with John O'Connor as Team Captain with Sandra O'Connor, Toni Harris, and Rick Haag as Team Mates. Coming in first place was the Rolling Rascals with Ron Dewberry as Team Captain with Cheryl Dewberry, Pamela McIntire, Debbie Church and Nathan Church as Team Mates. Our celebration for these teams was June 22 as we gave those teams our Bocce Award and job well done. Great season this year with some big changes scheduled for next year. Great job teams. ~ Ross Brunetto, Bocce Chairperson, (951) 926-8295 Bocce Billiards Club Bocce Winners for the 2025 Bocce Season. If you like the game of pool and would like to meet and play like-minded players, please join us in the Billiards Room on Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 noon. The club participates with the Hemet Valley Pool Club; we host and travel to other 55+ communities and have tournaments with other teams. The game of choice is 1-15, it is a form of 8 Ball and it is a lot of fun. We are also interested in enlisting a few more players for our club. If this interests you, please come on out and join us for a morning of billiards. ~ Art Martel, Team Captain, (909) 973-8208
