Please Read is!
While trying to decide on a theme for this article, several things
came to mind:
1. The tremendous variety of skills practiced by the Sewing
Etc. Club members, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting,
embroidery, etc. (hence the name of the club.)
2. The benefit of a wonderful, dedicated room provided by the
community with equipment, storage and furnishings.
3. The generosity of residents who support the club with
donations of fabric, yarn, sewing machines, miscellaneous
accessories and funds.
As a consequence, our members return so much to San Diego
sounty by donating:
1. Kid Comfort Quilts to children of family members from
Camp Pendleton who are being deployed.
2. Homemade Christmas stockings (200 of them, please) to the
children of Camp Pendleton.
3. Hand knitted and crocheted hats, blankets, hot pads and
other items to organizations that help people in need.
4. Project Linus blankets supplied to emergency personnel for
children and youth who are in stressful situations such as
traffic accidents, fires, etc.
5. Little quilts for the cradles made by the Woodchucks and
painted by Art Club members.
The theme of this article is to thank you and to make you
aware that your donations and support go beyond the Sewing Etc.
Club. Please visit our website for the schedule and more. http://
