| OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2025 |27 Art Lovers In June, the Art Lovers Club visited The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana in Orange County to view the ground-breaking Chinese Terracotta Warriors Exhibit. We had a fascinating docent-led tour of one of the most significant archeological discoveries of the 20th Century! In the 1970s a farmer was digging a well on his property and began seeing fragments of the warriors. We were able to view over 110 recent discoveries including life-size terra-cotta soldiers, horses, intricately crafted chariots and precious bronze, jade and gold artifacts. These were all to be used in their afterlife. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Tangata Restaurant in the museum. A good time was had by all! The Art Lovers Club will be off for the month of July, but we are busy planning excellent speakers and trips for the second half of 2025! You will see (and enjoy) the subjects of the photographs, the angle of the camera, the lighting, as well as the memories and emotions evoked by the photographs, all combining to create enjoyable art for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to stop in to the Art Studio and see the photographic talent we have gathered for your viewing pleasure. You may have noticed the changing exhibit of resident-created art at the Clubhouse front desk. We have so many talented artists in OHCC. The current work on display is an acrylic painting by Annette Frimtzis, entitled Italy, capturing a sweeping landscape of the coast.
