As of July 2025, the Ocean Hills Wine Tasting Club is thriving with nine active tasting groups and a total of 282 enthusiastic members. Each month, members gather in small groups to enjoy themed wine tastings, where one member opens their home as host and another curates a unique wine experience. Presenters choose a theme — such as wines from a California region or an international varietal — and purchase a selection of wines using a set contribution from participants. They also provide detailed write-ups with tasting notes, purchase locations, and prices, helping everyone learn as they sip. These gatherings are potluck-style, with each guest bringing an appetizer to share and, of course, their own wine glass. It's a relaxed, delicious way to explore new wines and deepen connections with fellow members. Beyond monthly tastings, the club also hosts larger events for all members. In April, we celebrated with a lively Mexican Fiesta featuring a mariachi band, DJ, and catering from Bekker's. Looking ahead, October will bring a Club Social in place of the traditional Dinner Dance. During this fun and festive evening, we'll also hold our 2026 Board of Directors election. A Nominating Committee — Tim Rogers, Joann Bush, and Kathy Hatton — is now seeking candidates. If you're passionate about wine and community, consider throwing your cork in the ring! Cheers to friendship, fun, and fantastic wine! OH Wine Tasting Club is open to all residents of OHCC for an annual fee of $15. ~ ChatGPT - Jody McDonough (760) 653-8198, jodyzm@gmail.com Wine Tasting Club
