Golf Club
Summer is winding down and we have plenty of sunshine left and time to master
the front Nine before the lake is completed this fall. Updates on the lake come out
weekly. Speaking of NINERS we have a dedicated group of players led by Mike &
Mina Bell over the past 15 years with a group of about 50 players. They play Tuesday
after the Men's tournament. The first group tees off at 12:30 pm and tee times go to
about 1:30 pm. In order to play you need a bag tag and clubs and must be a member
of the Golf Club. Club dues are $15 year. Sign up online to get a tee time. Each
month they have their own ACE of the MONTH with the following members ACES
so far this year: Carol Burton, Lee Rautenkranz, Heidi Heckel, Pat Taylor, Mike Bell,
Vicki Brady, Jack Shabel, Sandy Ackerman and July's ACES Sherri McDaniel and
Alan Hawkins.
In other golf news Guys and Dolls held on June 21 had lots of winners. Closest to the
pin was Lily Christiansen and Mike Ball. Magic Circle winners were Bruce Barnum,
Jeff Hurley, Malcolm Reinhardt, Peggy Singh and Sung Burleson. Low gross on the
day was team Boren, Freedle and Spencers with a score of 22! Touring Amateurs at
Oceanside Muni Closest to pin winners were Mark Deutman and Judy Fry. Magic
Circle winners were Alan Ballard, Rich Dameron, Fred Peppe, Don Russell, Scott
Sloan, Karen Burke and Teresa Deutman. Team Geisser, Jarf, Nordberg and Stern
were loss gross with a score of 60.
The upcoming tournaments is Guys and Dolls on Aug. 16 and Touring Amateurs
Aug. 18 at El Camino Country Club. Come to think about it, we're all NINERS now
until water is in the lake!
Our club is at 564 members which is 241 women and 323 men as of July 1. Written
