Last month, I had the pleasure of vacationing with my son and his family in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains — a breathtaking place lled with crystal-clear lakes, towering pine trees, soaring eagles, and refreshing cool weather. Being there reminded me of John Muir, the great naturalist and early advocate for the preservation of this magnicent region. Muir fell deeply in love with the Sierra Nevada, which he aectionately called the "Range of Light," and dedicated his life to exploring and protecting its wild beauty. He encouraged all of us to embrace the outdoors, writing, "Wander a whole summer if you can… time will not be taken from the sum of your life. Instead of shortening, it will denitely lengthen it and make you truly immortal." His words remind us to slow down, step into nature, and experience the joy and renewal it oers. But Muir's invitation to explore, learn, and connect doesn't only apply to far-o mountain ranges — it can be lived out right here in our own community. Whether it's wandering down Four Seasons Boulevard to admire the seasonal colors or enjoying a stroll through nearby Idyllwild, we can all nd moments to reconnect with our surroundings. In the same spirit of engagement, I invite you to take part in something closer to home: our community's Board of Directors meetings. While attending a Board meeting may not compare to wandering the high Sierra, it is an important opportunity to engage, learn, and stay informed about what's happening in Four Seasons. Board meetings are held on Wednesday aernoons from 1 to approximately 2 pm — just an hour of your time. You'll meet fellow homeowners, the FirstService Residential management team, and the Board members. ere's also time during the Homeowner Forum to speak directly to the Board. At each meeting, you'll hear management and nancial reports, learn about the focus areas for the month, and stay informed on the HOA's budget and operations. e Consent Calendar includes items previously approved by the Board — oen related to safety or maintenance needs, such as amenity repairs. You'll also hear about new committee volunteers being approved and updates from all nine committee chairs on recent activities. During the New Business portion, topics might include community events, expenditures like holiday lighting, annual maintenance of the shueboard courts, and landscaping proposals from Harvest Landscape Company. In short, attending a Board meeting is a simple but meaningful way to stay connected and informed. You'll nd the meeting schedule in the Herald magazine, posted at the Lodge, or you can always call the Lodge front desk for details. Please consider attending — you'll walk away with accurate, up-to-date information about the happenings in our beautiful Four Seasons community. And as John Muir wisely advised, take time to wander this summer — it will bring joy and value to your life. And when your schedule allows, stop by a Board meeting. Hope to see you there! Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2025 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Rick Adkins, Paul Barr, Fred Kydd, Cli Post, Mary Reyna, and Dan Ramos, Barbra Balser, President
