26 | OHCC LIVING | SEPTEMBER 2025 | Club W Many Clubs here in Ocean Hills take a hiatus during the summer months. Rightly so, people travel, spend time at the pool and entertain visitors from back east. But we at Club W are here. We try to retain our doctrine of helping those who need help. We offer solace, friendship and fun events. Our happy hour in the Majorca room will continue on the second and fourth Monday in September at 4 pm. Bring a nosh and meet some new people. Our meetings will resume on Sat., Sept. 23 at 10 am in the Abravanel Hall. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jason Gestring; D.C. and he will speak on "Living to be 100." He is a Chiropractic Physician and the subjects he will speak on are neuropathy, neck and back pain, and painful headaches. Dr. Gestring has state-of-the-art therapy, and he has helped thousands of people avoid surgery. In addition to his practice, he is a passionate educator and speaker. He's also a golfer and a family man. Because we at Club W feel his talk could be very helpful, we invite anyone in the community who might be interested in joining us. We are again working hard to provide you with entertainment that is creative, funny, fun, meaningful, unusual, exciting, educational, and thought-provoking. We'll shortly be asking for new talent to join us – perhaps, even those with musical talents. Upcoming events: Sept. 1, we will present scenes from Wizard of Oz, performed by Front Row Center, an exciting kids' theatre program. (For more information, see: frontrowcenter.live.) Admission is free for members and $15 for non- members. Come, relax and enjoy! Actors' Workshop members entertained us last month with various scenes from Neil Simon's e Odd Couple – Female Version. Led by and included Charmayne Huntley, directed the production and was one of the cast, which also included outstanding performances by Sherrie Scoby, Nelson Agudello, and Tony Sando. Thank you all for a great evening and for showing us the results of your hard work. The world premiere of Starlights, a brand new play written by Janet S. Tiger just for OHCC, and directed by Patricia Moran Collins, will be performed in Abravanel Hall on Oct. 17 and 18. Congratulations to those who were cast in Starlights and thank you to all who auditioned. We look forward to their performances. Stay tuned to your emails and tubes for details as they emerge. Adrienne Nims will be making a return engagement on Oct. 6. Her theme will be "Octoberfest!" Keep your eyes and ears open to find out what she's offering. All members are welcome to join the Theatre Arts Wednesday classes, which meet from 1 to 3 pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Please check your emails each month for dates, topic and room assignment. Our next regular Board meeting will be held Sept. 17, at 11 am, in a room to be assigned. Regular Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am, and are open to all Theatre Arts members, so please do come and join us.
