10 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2025 | Sun Lakes Committee Reports It was the Marketing Advisory Committee's pleasure to recognize the Golf Course Maintenance Staff as Employees of the Month for July. We acknowledged Mark Burchfield on behalf of the golf maintenance team at the August Master Board Open Session. Many kind words were shared about how their team performs tasks in cold, wet winters and hot summer days. They do their best to keep the golf courses in top condition and always ready for play. This crew has demonstrated loyalty and honesty; over the years, they've found many golf clubs and head covers and have always returned them to their owners. Daily, this skilled and experienced team strives to ensure our golf courses remain the best in the area. The average tenure of team members is 12.5 years, with seven staff members having over 25 years of service at Sun Lakes. The Marketing Committee was proud to congratulate the Golf Course Maintenance Staff on earning July Employee of the Month for their outstanding performance. They truly deserve this recognition and the Visa gift card. Remember, you can nominate any Sun Lakes employee for Employee of the Month, including monitors, maintenance staff, Pro Shop staff, or Food and Beverage team members. Nomination forms are available in the Main Clubhouse, Lounge, Restaurant, Sandwedge, and Pro Shop for residents to recognize outstanding job performance. ~ Michele Walter, Marketing Committee Chairperson, (951) 202-8009 Marketing Advisory REAL ESTATE STATS AUG. 1 TO 26: Active or coming soon: 65 • 9 Condos: $299,000 to $375,000 • 56 Homes: $315,000 to $554,000 In Escrow: 13 • 2 Condos: $299,500 to $359,000 • 11 Homes: $299,999 to $459,000 Closed escrow: 18 • 14 Homes: $330,000 to $445,000 • 4 Condos: $290,000 to $335,000 Our real estate brochure has been completed and approved by the Master Board. I think we all feel thankful for that. But soon, darkness will descend upon us and we will be losing the sun much earlier. With that in mind, let's talk about outdoor lighting. Earlier darkness brings safety and security concerns. If you are considering adding outdoor lighting, whether for visual appeal or to enhance your security, here are a few tips: Motion sensor lighting is an attractive addition to your existing fixtures. If you install these, make sure they are 550 lumens or less. That's equivalent to a 40-watt bulb. Approval from the Master Architectural Committee is not needed if the new bulbs meet this criterion. Installing new outdoor fixtures does require an approved application. All lighting must be directed within the owner's property and should not intrude on neighbors or any common areas. New fixtures should match the architectural style of the property. String lights, rope lights, or icicle-style lights may only be used on the front of the home during holiday periods. String or rope lighting may be used on the rear patio year-round but must be installed on the interior edge of the patio cover so they are not visible from any common area. Please feel free to contact our administrative staff if you need assistance with any exterior updates or modifications. Also, don't forget we have a paint brochure available to help you choose paint colors when you're ready to repaint your house. You can pick up the brochure at the office or find it on the Sun Lakes website. ~ Lyla Wolden, member MAC Master Architectural
