FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2025 61 On Sept. 25, club members took part in the Four Seasons Senior Olympics, with medals awarded to the participating teams. The tournament was exciting, and everyone had a fantastic time. This fall, we will continue playing volleyball on The Lodge lawn area between the pickleball and paddle tennis courts, on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Play begins in the evening around 5 pm and continues until sunset. All you need to join in lawn chair volleyball is a sturdy lawn chair and a desire to laugh with your neighbors at Four Seasons Beaumont. Our club has only two rules: you can't get out of your chair during play, and you MUST HAVE FUN! If you're looking for a club where you can enjoy a little friendly competition with minimal physical effort, come check us out! Feel free to bring your guests along. Everyone is welcome to join the fun. Answer: Start with the basic rules and simple drills to build confidence and interest in the game. That is exactly what happens weekly on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 pm. Coaches Jimmy, Robert, and Tony coach beginners and advanced players by performing drills and reviewing the basic rules of pickleball to Four Seasons players. Effective coaching techniques are essential to help players improve their skills and enjoy the game. Successful coaching involves not only imparting knowledge of the game but also fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. Key elements include understanding, setting realistic goals, and using age-appropriate training methods. For beginners, Jimmy, Robert, and Tony focus on building confidence and having fun. The key is to adapt coaching methods to meet the specific needs and goals of each player. Effective pickleball coaching requires a blend of solid fundamental teaching, advanced strategy development, and the use of modern paddle technology. Four Seasons is fortunate to have Jimmy, Robert, and Tony. Thank you for sharing your time and talents! Come join us at the pickleball courts on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 pm. Additionally, daily club play takes place from 7 to 11 am. And if you're completely new to pickleball, try working with Nancy H. every Saturday at 8:30 am for a basic introduction to our favorite game. See you on the courts! ~ KR, gmew@hotmail.com Pickleball Robert working with (L-R) Colleen, Diane, and Pat Jimmy working with Julie Coaches Tony and Robert
