48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2025 Our Sept. 6 Cars & Coffee meeting was fantastic, with a great turnout of impressive cars and trucks. The weather was perfect! As a reminder, our Veterans Day Car, Truck, and 4x4 show is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, at The Lodge parking lot. Registration forms are available at The Lodge and must be submitted by October 30th. The registration fee is $25 and includes a T-shirt and a goodie bag. Music will be provided by Dave Rohrbacher, and food by the Bistro. There will be fantastic raff le prizes throughout the day and awards will be presented to first and second place finishers in each class. A special award will be given for BEST OF SHOW! This month's automotive tip concerns your tires: DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD YOUR TIRES ARE? This is based on my experience while preparing my Corvette for this month's Cars & Coffee. My right rear tire unexpectedly burst (see photo). Fortunately, I was not driving or near the tire at the time. I researched and discovered every tire has a date code indicating when it was manufactured. I identified this code on my tires and found they are 25 years old yet still had plenty of tread left. Tires manufactured since 2000 use the last four digits of the Tire Identification Number (TIN) to show the week and year of production — the first two digits for the week, and the last two for the year. The big question is: How often should I replace my tires? The answer varies depending on several factors, including driving style and road conditions. Most tires have a maximum safe lifespan of six years, even if they look fine. CHECK YOUR TIRE CODE! It's easy to overlook tire age when they appear to operate well visually, especially if the tread seems intact and the rubber looks healthy. However (as I learned firsthand), appearances can be deceiving. Over time, tire rubber deteriorates due to exposure to oxygen, sunlight, and temperature changes, which weakens their structural integrity — even if the tread depth seems safe. Our next Cars and Coffee is Oct. 4 at 9 am in The Lodge parking lot. This coincides with the Four Seasons 20th Anniversary Parade.
