| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2025 | 9 Its autumn! e mornings and nights may be cooling but events at Four Seasons are heating up. Don't miss the opportunity to join in. Wunderbar! Wunderbar! If you missed Oktoberfest, it was an evening to remember. Attendees shared an authentic (and fabulous) meal, which showcased the avors of the occasion's native origins. e bands enhanced the atmosphere by providing music for dancing and enjoyment. What could be better? anks to all the volunteers and Linda Elliott and her team for such a marvelous event. As August wound down, so did another successful season of "Movies Under the Stars." ree great movies (weather didn't cooperate for the last ursday of the month) were shown to residents and guests who brought their beverages, golf carts, and chairs to relax and watch feature presentations on the Plaza as they munched on popcorn and traditional movie candy provided by the Social Committee. So you don't miss out, here are a few upcoming activities that you will want to enjoy! On the aernoon of Dec. 13, Hometown Holiday will take place in front of e Lodge. is event is for residents and guests of all ages. ere will be games for the kiddies, along with hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies. e golf cart parade follows and the day wraps up with the Vintage Voices annual Christmas Concert in the Ballroom. On Sat., Dec. 20, the Committee hosts its Four Seasons Biennial Holiday Home Tour and we need houses to showcase. We would like to have two or three homes from each area - Masters, Championships, Legends and Invitationals. If you or your friends like the way your home looks aer you decorate for the holidays, please volunteer it for this event. You can decorate two rooms or your entire house. You can use your regular holiday decorations so there is no need to buy anything new. If you are interested in participating in this fun and popular event, please contact Mary Swinney at (714) 328-6416. Proceeds from this year's event benet Haven Pet Center. Sure hope to hear from you! e New Year's Eve celebration promises to be the best ever, so mark your calendar for Dec. 31. Details will be forthcoming, so watch for them in as you will not want to miss this year's party. And this is just for the remainder of 2025. Wait 'til you see what's in store for 2026. Social Committee Library Committee Fall is here, including cooler temperatures interspersed with some lingering warmer ones. You might even think of this month as the beginning of the holiday season with residents getting ready to celebrate Halloween at the end of the month. You may, also, have noticed that fall and winter puzzles, including appropriate holiday ones, have reappeared on the shelves of the puzzle cabinets in the computer room for your enjoyment. Your Four Seasons Library is always ready for your visit, no matter the season. Do you enjoy paging through magazines? Our lone magazine rack has been quite well stocked the past several months. e magazines are all donated by your friends and neighbors. In years past, many of us have had multiple magazine subscriptions at home. While that's not as true anymore, they are still enjoyed by many of our residents. Because of limited space for magazines, we do our best to display the most recent issues — three months for the monthly magazines and one month for those published weekly. Older issues may, also, appear on the rack if the overall number of magazines is low at a particular time. While we strongly encourage you to enjoy reading the magazines while in the library, some residents like to take them home to read there, especially for family members who are bedridden or don't get out and about the neighborhood easily. We simply ask that the magazines be returned as soon as possible for others to enjoy. Have you checked out the revolving bookcase to the le of the paperbacks on the right side of the library for the Resident Authors' Books? ey have pink dots on their spines and are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name — Gerald Berns, Vernita Black, Mary Bowe, Nathan Church, Patrick Timothy Day, Sherri Domenigoni, Howard Feigenbaum, Roberta Feigenbaum (CDs of music composed by this Resident Composer), Charles Forsyth, James Hitt, Vicki Hitt, H.F. Jeerson, Cydnei Laird, Paul O'Neill, Pat Rotisky, Alison Sanders, Lynne Spreen, and Ellyn Wolfe. Some of the larger-sized books are displayed on the end table nearest the revolving bookcase. Photographs of some of our authors are displayed on the top shelf of the le-hand wall bookcases. We look forward to identifying more Resident Authors, displaying their work, and featuring them in Authors' Talks. We thank Sherri Domenigoni for speaking in September about "Getting Started on Family History Memoirs." Come visit! ~ Betty Crase
