Finally… the cooler temps of fall, coupled with the seasonal crispness felt within the air. It won't be long now before we are complaining about how cold it is! Such is life in the desert basin of Hemet, where temperate consistency is far from the norm. Our gardens are certainly seeking a break from the intense heat, (AND nasty insects threatening their very livelihood). As we get ready for fall planting, our timing to bring Master Gardeners to Four Seasons could not be better. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On Mon., Oct. 13 at 1 pm Ebon Longfellow, Sr. Master Gardener, (and a wealth of important information) will be speaking in the Ballroom. Ebon's topic will be Creating & Maintaining Healthy Garden Soil for Planting. Following Ebon's guest appearance in October, we will again host Master Gardener, Christine Lape on Mon., Nov. 10 at 1 pm. Christine will be speaking to us on A Planting Calendar for Vegetables & Melons. All Four Seasons residents are invited and encouraged to attend these two very signicant events. ere will be open discussions and a Q & A Session following each presentation. You do not need to be a member of Late Bloomers to attend. Enjoy the photos of beautiful Gardens at Grand Traditions in Fallbrook. Late Bloomers enjoyed brunch together on the Veranda of the Beverly Mansion and then took a stroll around this breathtaking Estate. In lieu of our Master Gardener presentations in the Ballroom, there will not be regular session meetings in October and November. Joni Kipling and Ann Shepherd continue to keep us apprised of the progress for a Community Garden within Four Seasons. ey are working closely with both Landscape & Capital Improvement Committees, giving us monthly updates.
