| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2025 | 33 Music Lovers e past few months have been very busy for a few of our club members, and I want to thank our cast of Broadway Hits for all the hard work, rehearsal time, and preparation for their performances last month. Our second Annual Musical Variety Show was performed to a combined audience of over 480. Our performers were wonderful and I'm still getting rave reviews and great feedback about how great you all were. Our band, led by Mike Cea on guitar, Sheri Mc Murray, on piano and guest members, bassist Bruce Grafrath, and drummer Dennis Rota, entertained beautifully as the audience gathered before the start of each show. en they played brilliantly for nine of the 13 numbers to the delight of both cast and audience. Our fabulous MC, Morey Sherman, shared his comic genius to entertain everyone between acts. And everyone in the show sang and danced their hearts out for our appreciative audiences. If you missed going to the show, you will be able to enjoy it on our closed-circuit TV station in upcoming months. To those of you who came out to support our show and be part of our live audience, we want to tell you how amazing you were! Your applause, cheers, laughter, and appreciation were felt by cast members in every act. anks for all the texts, cards and personal messages to all of us aer the show. We loved performing for you all and are eternally grateful for your praise. We are also grateful to the AV committee and volunteers, the recreation sta, the facilities sta and all the club volunteers who helped make our show a grand success. Remember to always keep a song in your heart! Written by D. Cea Luck be a Lady Dancing Queen Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend Club W We did a little research to see when the word widow rst appeared. It was in England in the 14th century. e word widower, being a man who lost his spouse, was coined in the 16th century. Although these times in life are sad, we at Club W (originally, the Widow's Club) were founded on the principle that people in this position live a full and happy life. We know life must go on, and we at Club W strive to bring that about. Companionship being a big factor. In the month of September, our rst post summer meeting was held in the Abravanel Hall. It always starts with sweets and coee and a chance to reconnect aer the summer. Written by Selma Leighton
