You're invited to the 14th Annual Veterans Walk – a two-mile walk through Sun Lakes in tribute to all who have served. All proceeds will benefit VFW Post 233. Registration is available at the Main Clubhouse reception desk. Cost is $25 per person (checks only, payable to SLCC). Registration includes a T-shirt, continental breakfast, and an inspiring talk from members of VFW Post 233. Let's walk together to honor, remember, and support our veterans. Can't walk the full two miles? No problem! Turnaround points will be available at the half-mile, one-mile, and one-and-a-half-mile marks. Golf cart participation — for disabled residents only: Decorate your cart with a U.S. Flag, Service Flag, or Wounded Warrior Flag to show your support. Please note: • Continental breakfast is for participants only. • Please carpool or use a golf cart to reach the starting area. 14th Annual Veterans Walk Dec. 1, Main Clubhouse Ballroom: Come out to the Main Clubhouse parking lot to view the beautifully-decorated District Christmas Trees at 4:30 pm. Then, at 5 pm sharp, watch as the trees spark to life with holiday lights. Afterwards, head into the Main Clubhouse for hot cider and hot chocolate, cookies, and holiday entertainment. Let's celebrate the season together! Dec. 10, in the Main Clubhouse Bus Room: Thank you to all the districts who selected Families for the Holiday Wish Program. Those who wish to drop off the gifts in the Main Clubhouse Bus Room, please bring your gifts to the Bus Room on Wed., Dec. 10 between 8:30 am and 12 pm. To ensure that your gifts are delivered to the proper family, please make sure they are boxed and labeled with the family number. Let's light up Sun Lakes with some holiday spirit! This contest is open to all residents of Sun Lakes. If you'd like to register your home, please do so at the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk beginning Nov. 10. The deadline to register is Dec. 4. Judging will be conducted by the Recreation Committee during the week of Dec. 6 - 10, beginning each evening at 6:30 pm. There will be awards and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced on Dec. 12 during the Holiday Golf Cart Parade. District Tree Lighting Holiday Outdoor Home Decorating Contest Holiday Wish Program Dec. 12, 5:30 pm, Main Clubhouse: The Recreation Department is bringing back the Holiday Golf Cart Parade! If you would like to register your golf cart, please register at the Main Clubhouse with the Receptionist beginning Nov. 10; the deadline to register is Dec. 5.
