| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2025 |25 Papercrafting's Annual Meeting and Luncheon on the OHCC Lanai welcomed 2026 leaders. At a special meeting where 35 members attended, the Papercrafting Club voted on their 2026 Board of Directors, shared a delicious potluck luncheon and topped off the afternoon with a fabulous Make & Take craft session led by our very talented and creative member, Jan Malone. New leaders were voted to serve on the Board: • President - Karin Barnes • Vice-President - Jacqueline Ettinger • Secretary - Jackie Windes • Treasurer - Shellie Bean • Membership - Alison Vincent • Sunshine - Sandy Miller • Social Co-Leaders - Jacqueline Ettinger and Janeen Shellen • Communications - Lorraine Kleeman • Co-chairman of Spring Arts & Crafts Fair - Karin Barnes and Alison Vincent During the Make & Take craft session, Jan Malone instructed members how to create little gift boxes with themes including holidays, Thanksgiving, summer, fall, and birthdays, just to name a few of the those presented. In preparation for the session, Jan made 52 "Make and Take" kits and 12 sample table decorations. She was thrilled that everyone seemed to love the idea of crafting together and used most of the kits she provided. Karin Barnes, Club President, thanked all the volunteers that contributed to making the Papercrafting Club successful. She expressed that our Club could not exist without the volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to the Club. She recognized Debbie Cea, editor of the Club article for OHCC Magazine for the last few years, Sandy Miller, for serving as Sunshine Coordinator, and Ellin Whitson, Membership Coordinator. She also thanked Janeen Sheelen and Jacqueline Ettinger for co-leading the Social Committee and looks forward to more social events that bring all the members together in fun and creativity. Good food, great entertainment by MYDJ Alex and dancing as though no one was watching. Members of our OHCC Dance Troupe entertained us with their costumed dance and our thanks to Karla Sando, Ann Legasse, Kris Bauer, Gloria Lipitz, Jacqueline Ledger, Sheryl Deutsch, BJ Torres, Diana Kaminsky, and Donnalee Singer. This month the club is off to Chula Vista for an early Thanksgiving celebration with highlights including a traditional Thanksgiving Feast, Dinner Detective Show, taco bar (I mean what doesn't say Thanksgiving like tacos?) and many other fun planned activities all thanks to the wonderful Wagon Masters, Porters, and Helpers. Next up is our Annual Holiday Dinner Dance on Tues., Dec. 2 at Abravanel Hall, with this year's theme, "All Spruced Up" and catered by "Sessions" with a delicious array of gourmet food and music by MYDJ Alex, sponsored by Barbara DuDeck of REMAX Connections. Then it's off to Rancho Jurupa Valley Regional Park, Riverside, California from Dec. 8 - 12. While there enjoying food, friendship, and games, we will be making a visit to the Mission Inn Festival of Lights, a must-see event with Wagon Masters Chris and Donna Butler. Looking forward to more great upcoming events to include a trip to San Mateo Campground in San Clemente in March. Whale Watching onboard of Captain Dave's Whale Watching Safari/cruise from Dana Point will be just one of the fun activities. This season of travel is not about how fast or how far you go. It is about how fully you experience it. Written by Marshall Kelsay
