24 | OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2025 |
Welcome to shorter days, longer nights and the diet-challenging
holidays. If you're thinking of making something special for family
and friends, it's time to get started. As a friend said, "Thinking isn't
doing."
For inspiration, here are the free classes in November: Sat., Nov.
8, 9 am to 12 pm: Top Stitching Demonstration and Class; Sat., Nov.
15, 10 am to 4 pm: Various Gift Making Workshops; Sat., Nov. 22, 9
am to 12 pm: Use Up Yarn Balls, Knit Hats Helix Style.
We recently had a wonderful class on embroidery.
In addition to the classes, we have open times reserved for
members including: a group of knitters, crocheters and loom
project makers who gather every Tuesday from 3 to 4:30 pm; later
on, Tuesdays (6 to 8 pm) and on Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several quilters,
knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew & Chats." The
Sewing Room is available almost every Friday morning from 9 to
11:30 am for classes that require sign up OR it may be open for what
is called "Finish Up Fridays" — come in and do just that. Check
the calendar in the Sewing Room for classes and activities. If you're
interested in a class, sign up on the clipboards located in the Sewing,
Etc. Room. If supplies for the classes are needed, there will be a list
available for items you need to bring; there is usually a sample or
photo of the item with the clipboards.
If you're interested in participating in our activities and are not
sure who to reach out to for more information, call or text MaryLu
Belisle (952) 454-1931. Also, please visit our website at http://
ohccsewing.wixsite.com/ ohccsewing for the schedule and for more
information about the club
All are welcome to join us. Dues are $7 per year. Our meetings
are held at 9:30 am in the morning (socialize with treats starting at 9
am) the first Thursday of each month … we look forward to seeing
you! Written by MaryLu Belisle
