62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2025 The Tennis Club was in the Halloween spirit for its October Play Day with the players decked out in costumes and holiday colors of orange and black. Attire ranged from Club President Stan Lam and New Member Frank Wanderlingh dressed as Batgeezers to Howard Levine wearing his most recent chest X-ray. There weren't any vampires or mummies as those costumes would have been difficult to play tennis in and they're pretty much about dead people. Of course, there were snacks for before, during, and after the tennis games, because it was a Tennis Club event and that means food. Speaking of food, another event was planned for November with a Thanksgiving theme, of course. In addition to the tennis and the food, several themed games were planned with valuable (?) prizes to be won. How about trying to hit the Butterball with a tennis serve. The winner can take it home, stuff it, cook it to 165 degrees, and then serve it. That's two serves and no faults. Save the date of Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, for the Tennis Club's Annual Dinner and Meeting. We will be back in The Courts Multipurpose Room with catering by Johnnie Russo. There will be reports from the Executive Committee and installation of its 2026 members. Membership dues for 2026 will be $25, the same as in 2025, so no inf lation! You can pay your dues to any of the Committee members: Stan, Chuck, Lou, Larry Z, or Steve. Those dues along with the proceeds from the recycling project (thank you, Mike Olson) pay for tennis balls, water and coffee at Play Days, the cost of activities throughout the year, as well as for the Annual Dinner for the members. Please note time changes: Saturday FUNdamental drills and gentle coaching will start at 9 am on Court 1 during the winter months. Regular last-Saturday-of-the-month Play Days will have sign-ins at 8:30 am and play beginning at 9 am during the winter months. Winter hours for The Courts are 7 am to 8 pm.
