| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2025 | 71 Kathleen "Kathy" Wojton, August 25,1949 – September 22, 2025 Kathy passed away surrounded by family at Loren's Good Life Care in Riverside. Kathy was a loving wife to Paul of 53 years, mother to Jennifer Castro and Alan Nyborg, mother to Paul and Sandi Wojton. She was "Mimi" to Anna, Emily, Isabelle, and Benjamin Castro. She was "Grammy" to Jasmine, Noah, November, Chase, and Dylan Wojton and soon to be a "Great Grammy." Kathy was born in Chicago and she and Paul moved to California in 1989 and settled in Corona and then moved to Sun Lakes in August 2013. Kathy enjoyed many of the shows here, playing bingo, bocce, canasta, and she loved to shop. She made many dear friends while enjoying Sun Lakes. Kathy was an avid collector of dolls, gnomes, and many knick knacks. Kathy was also a long-time bowler in her younger days. In fact, Kathy met Paul on a blind date going bowling for green stamps back in Chicago. Kathy and Paul were many-time cruisers and her life will be celebrated on a future cruise with family and friends. Deanne Elizabeth Smith passed away peacefully at her home on August 9, 2025. She was a respected teacher in the Fontana School district, where she spent many years inspiring students with her warmth, patience, and passion for learning. She was also a devoted wife, a proud aunt, and a loyal friend whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She's known for her adventurous spirit; Deanne loved to travel, golf, dance, and stay active. Her energy was contagious and her enthusiasm for life touched all who had the joy of knowing her. She especially loved her role as an aunt, cherishing time spent with her niece and nephews and always encouraging them with her signature blend of wit, spunk, and compassion. She had a way of lighting up a room. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched as a teacher, a mentor, a wife, and a friend. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten and will live in our hearts forever. Deanne was laid to rest at the Riverside Veterans Cemetery. Rest in peace. George Henry Rumph, May 26, 1930 – October 18, 2025 George Henry Rumph passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, in Banning, California, at the age of 95. Born on May 26, 1930, in Brooklyn New York, George was the son of Arthur Wilbur and Lucy May (Kropp) Rumph. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy beginning in 1947. Following his honorable discharge, George began a long and successful career at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, where he rose through the ranks from ship electrician to Superintendent of Electrical Shop 51. He retired in 1985 after nearly four decades of dedicated service. In 1951, George married Louise Sprenger, and together they welcomed their daughter, Donna, in 1960. The couple shared 31 loving years of marriage until Louise's passing in 1982. George was later blessed to find love again with his wife, Peggy, with whom he shared many happy years. George is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughter, Donna; his sisters, Janet Olousen and Edie Belisario; his bonus children Monte (Mary) Enright, Shelly (Dennis) Field, and Vicki (David) Patterson; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. George loved sports, especially baseball, and continued to play softball well into adulthood. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and bocce ball, and cherished the camaraderie and friendships those activities brought him. George will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, and kindness, and the love he shared with his family and friends throughout his long and full life.
