| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2025 | 31 Music Lovers It's December, the final month of 2025 and my term as president of the Music Lovers Club is ending. I've been reflecting on the past three years and want to acknowledge all the important things our club has accomplished and all the wonderful people that have entered my life because of starting this club. In late 2022, I decided to start a club to bring even more music to our community. We called it the Music Lovers Club and in addition to the Villagers Concerts, we began Coffee House Monday and Karaoke Night. By year two, we created our first Musical Variety Show and by year three we added outside artists and DJs to our list of music events. We encouraged music of all kinds, gave musicians an opportunity to perform, and made it a point to make our events affordable if not free to all who joined us. And the people came, and joined our club, and we are now 284 strong. I'm absolutely amazed at what the love of music has created. While I still don't know the names of everyone who is in our club, many stop to say hello and thanks for all the music. I wish my memory of names were better, but I know your faces, and you have made me incredibly happy with your support and appreciation. I'm so grateful that we have Kris Bauer stepping forward to be our new club president, and Janet Mvros to be our very first Program Director. I know there will be others coming forward too to fill in the empty slots. I'm staying on as Secretary and will continue to author this monthly article so I'm not going anywhere. I'm just stepping back to allow others to take on the "heavy lifting." It's hard work starting a club and being president. I'm sending kudos out to the other club presidents, working hard to bring something special to our community. I encourage all your members to show their gratitude and remember that a club is only as good, strong, and vibrant as its members! If you love the clubs you're in, remember to say thanks and volunteer as much as you can!. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah to all. Our annual dinner is coming up on Dec. 17, and I look forward to a delicious holiday feast by Felix's BBQ, beautiful music by Perfect Blend Quartet and the warm fellowship of our amazing club members. You all have blessed me beyond words. To those of you who are looking forward to your birthday celebrations this month, I wish you the best birthday ever!
