We had a wonderful Christmas brunch. For the New Year, we're going to do Beginner Applique, only for the serious among us. Our Row x Rows are finished — pictures to come. So fun to see what was created for us. Come join us; we meet the first, third, and fifth Mondays from 1 to 5 pm. For info, call Jan Hamm at (951) 212-6799 or Vivian Myrdahl at (626) 221-0872. We in the crafting group wish everyone a very Happy New Year! What will this year bring? Since we were lucky to have a few new gals join our group last year, we are hoping to welcome even more this year. We are such a fun, spirited bunch, you might consider becoming a regular! In December, we all worked together on decoupaging an ornament with napkins. We had some very stunning results that arose out of the chaos. It's such fun to see the finished products. On Dec. 9, we gathered in the Main Clubhouse Restaurant for our annual holiday party. We were so blessed to have Gina as our server for the evening. She humorously goes along with our crazy antics. There were lots of laughs and surprises. Raff le tickets were handed out as the guests arrived, and lucky numbers were called at the end of the evening to give away the sparkly candle cups in the centerpieces. Our gift exchange produced so many gorgeously-wrapped gifts, we ended up giving out prizes in three categories. Our most uniquely-wrapped gift went to Denise Winfield, for creating a gift that looked like a little handbag. In the most creative category, Chris Fredrickson actually crocheted a drawstring pouch in the form of a snowman! And Sue Volz took home a prize for wrapping the prettiest package. The lucky winners of the two games we played were Beve Reneau and Gloria Jensen. Congratulations to all five ladies, seen at right posing with their prizes. Jan Flammang teased us for months about having gifts for everyone at the party but of course would not give us the slightest hint as to what they would be. She arrived at the party, toting a large wagon full of succulent plants, all potted in various bowls and containers. One by one, we were allowed to choose which one we wanted to take home. Such a delightful surprise. In January, we meet Mondays, Jan. 5, 19, and 26 from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. On Jan. 12 only (the second Monday of the month), we will meet from 11 am to 1 pm. Our monthly luncheon is Thurs., Jan. 8 in the Main Clubhouse Restaurant at 11:30 am. Hope to see everybody there. Please contact Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768 with any questions.
