26 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2026 | Happy New Year from the Solera RV Group! We are looking forward to another great year of fun, fellowship and camping. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Jurupa Regional Park campout and our Christmas luncheon to Ancho's restaurant due to unforeseen circumstances. We did manage to have our Christmas luncheon on December 8th at Billy Reed's restaurant in Palm Springs. Fourteen RV Group members attended the Christmas luncheon. Billy Reed's is considered to be the hidden gem of Palm Springs. It's been open for fifty years serving American comfort food in a relaxed setting. Everyone enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere. Located on north Hwy 111, Billy Reed's is a quick twenty-five-minute drive from Beaumont. The RV Group participated in the individual Christmas tree decorating in the Clubhouse. The RV Group took home the "Most Funny" award. We love participating in this event and look forward to bring home the "Gold" this year. Members of the RV Group also participated in decorating the Clubhouse for the holidays. We had a lot fun working with our fellow residents and neighbors. A big shout out of thanks to the African American Culture Club for sponsoring the clubhouse holiday decorating project. The Coachella Lakes Campout is in February. So far, 16 RV Group members are attending in seven RVs. One couple is staying in a cabin onsite at the campground. The itinerary will be discussed at January's meeting. There is so much to do in the desert during the winter. I'm sure we'll find something for everyone. We decided over lunch at Billy Reed's to add another camping adventure for 2026. In late May, we'll be driving down the highway to Pechanga RV Resort in Temecula. There is a total of 168 RV sites, all of them offering water, electric and sewer hook-ups. There is a complimentary shuttle service that takes the camper to the Pechanga Casino for the best in entertainment, gaming and food. Make it a New Year's resolution and think about joining the RV Group. There are no dues and you don't have to own a recreational vehicle to be a member. We look forward to meeting you at our next meeting on Jan. 10 at 3 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. ~ Ron Monroe, ronoap@aol.com, (909) 732-6139 RV GROUP
