This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Laurie Wolfenden. "is painting, 'Before the storm',
was inspired by a photo my sister took in the Canadian prairies. Trees are sparse in that area and she was
worried they would be in peril, due to an advancing thunderstorm. I thought it was a beautiful photo so
I asked her if I could paint it. Of course, she said, 'yes.' It was an unusual subject for me, as I don't usually
paint landscapes. Every painting is a puzzle to solve … that is half the fun. e ultimate prize is when you
succeed. e main thing is to look, interpret, and enjoy the process. It is a never-ending journey that doesn't
require walking, driving, or taking a plane!"
Classes are held on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon in the Arts & Crafts Room. There is a

We meet on Tuesdays from 10 until 11:30 am in the
Arts & Crafts Room. We welcome all levels of knitters
and crocheters to join us. We also welcome anyone who
is interested in learning how to knit or crochet. Please
