Billiards
The exciting and highly-anticipated finals for the fall 8-Ball Group
concluded on Dec. 11 with the Team of Any Pocket, Captained by
Dennis Sims and including players Bill Christensen, Duane Barringer,
Sophia Lin, Don Gould, Ernie Normand, and Jimmy Hizole won the
coveted title of Champions. Crackin' Racks, Captained by Duane
Vieira and including players Clay Waring, Don Forhane, Tony Browne,
Rick Brua, Robert Bierend, and Herb Schwartz were the finalists.
The Billiards Room also hosted a Holiday Break 9-Ball Tournament
on Dec. 27. Of the 16 players who participated, Moe Jamshidi defeated
Robert Bierend in the finals to win the $100 prize and the gold medal.
Plans for a partner scotch doubles 8-Ball tournament are underway
offering new challenges for Sun Lakes players along with the Spring
League team competition already
underway.
