32 | THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2026 |
TIME CHANGE: Our regular group of bocce players continues
to enjoy playing every Thursday afternoon. Beginning March 5, we
will be starting at 3 pm and playing to 5 pm. Bocce is a fun and easy
game to learn. We would love to have some new faces join us. Or
feel free to just come, watch and socialize. We enjoy our spectators!
Tables, chairs and umbrellas are provided for everyone, as well as
water and ice. You will need to bring any other personal beverage.
Bringing snacks is optional. Come check us out!

Our first Paddle tournament of 2026 was on Feb. 6 and was a great success! We had 16
players on four courts, including a couple of new players who joined in the tournament.
Our two winners were Donna Biksacky and Tom Legro (at left). Congratulations to both
of them!
Our next tournament will be on March 6. I hope we have 16 players again. If anyone is
interested in learning more about paddle tennis, please come down to the courts Mondays,
Wednesdays or Fridays about 7:30 am or contact Karen Nichols at 619-550-8194.
Our ping pong club continues to grow. More players are
showing up, and they are bringing great energy to the room.
To keep up with the growing turnout, some even got creative
and rallied on the banquet tables to add extra playing space.
Whether you are a seasoned player or just looking for casual
fun, we still have room for you to jump in and join the action.
No equipment needed.
