THE CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT: BEA REDD From Handmade Cards to riving Gardens. Creativity for Every Season Creativity flourishes in many forms, from the intricate details of handmade cards to the vibrant colors of a thriving garden. Have you ever received a greeting card in the mail and felt a little spark of joy? Or perhaps you've sent one yourself, hoping to brighten someone's day? For me, card making is more than a hobby — it's a way to connect, celebrate, and share kindness all year round. As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for more than two decades, I've been able to learn how to make special technique and fancy fold cards. Each card is uniquely made for its recipient. Whether it's the excitement of designing holidays cards or the pleasure of sending a thoughtful note, the process never gets old. It's like sending a paper hug in every folded card. Stamping and card making seems to be a dwindling art, but I will continue to create handmade cards for as long as I possibly can. It's my way to connect, celebrate, and share kindness with each card I make. Beyond crafting, gardening fills my days with purpose and beauty, bringing accomplishment and delight through growing fruits, vegetables, plants, and flowers in my garden. My gardening journey began four years ago, and after returning to CA in August 2024, I decided to join the Riverside County Master Gardeners (MG) program. I started the MG training program in September 2025, graduating in March 2026. Volunteering for the diverse events has connected me to schools and the public. Attending Farmers Markets, I'm able to talk to people about their gardening needs and issues by using what I've learned. I especially love working with the students and find it very rewarding— watching them nurture and harvest their own plants is inspiring, and I hope to continue sharing this joy in local schools. My greatest loves are The Lord and my family — my husband John and our four-legged children, Molly and Archie (and Sadie, who we recently lost). They inspire me to keep learning, growing, and giving. Whether I'm crafting a card, tending to my garden, or volunteering in the community, creativity is at the heart of everything I do. With a little care and imagination, anyone can enjoy the satisfaction of handmade gifts and homegrown produce, and the joy of sharing knowledge with others. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2026 | 25 Four Seasons Creative Group Royce Jerman offers "Painting Pals" on Tuesdays from 10 am to 1 pm and "Beading Buddies" on Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm in The Lodge.
