Hello Sun Lakes Residents, My name is Carlie Beakes, and I am a candidate for the Sun Lakes Master Board of Directors. I am seeking this position because I believe effective governance, financial responsibility, and transparent leadership are essential to preserving the quality of life and stability of our community. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for 48 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. We moved to Sun Lakes in 2020, and it has been the best decision. I currently serve as District 14 Delegate. I am also involved with the Lifestyles, Marketing, and Restaurant & Lounge Committees, which have provided me with a broad understanding of community operations, resident expectations, and areas where improvements are needed. I also participate in community events and performances, including IDS, ICC, and the Follies. I am also a member of Young at Heart and the LEGS Golf Club. Which has further strengthened my connection to Sun Lakes residents. Professionally, I have held senior leadership roles as an Administrator and Vice President for Medical Companies, Paul and I also previously owned an Insurance Agency. My volunteer and leadership background include serving as PTA President for 3 school districts, and coaching youth sports. I also served as HOA President and founded a Neighborhood Watch program. My priorities include: • Protecting HOA Dues through disciplined budgeting, tighter financial controls, and responsible for long-term planning. • Food and Beverage Accountability by ensuring CCL meets clearly defined standards for food quality, service, and pricing. • Security and Accessibility by evaluating and expanding patrol coverage appropriate for the size of our community and addressing ADA accessibility to ensure all residents can safely and comfortably access our facilities. I am committed to transparency, accountability, and thoughtful decision-making, and I believe collaboration and clear communication are essential to effective Board service. I am not running with a personal agenda, but with a sincere desire to serve the best interests of the entire Sun Lakes community. Candidates are Carlie Beakes, Joe Ganino, Howard Katz, Mary Jo McElwain, Jerey Ranieri, Ron Smith, Linda Spaulding, and Carol Tasko. 2026 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP AND ELECTION OF DIRECTORS: The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election of Directors will be held on Thurs., April 9, 2026, at 9 am, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. There will be three open positions on the Board of Directors. Each newly elected director will serve a two- year term. A "Meet the Candidates" forum will be conducted in the Ballroom. Members will be given the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates. The forum will be Wed., March 4, 2026, at 4 pm. Ballots will be mailed to homeowners on Fri., March 6, 2026. Election information will be posted on the Sun Lakes website www. sunlakescc.com and on the bulletin board in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. 2026 BIENNIAL DISTRICT DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE DISTRICT DELEGATE ELECTION: The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate elections are held in conjunction with the SLCC HOA Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election of Directors. The District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate election results will be tabulated by the Inspector of Election on Thurs., April 9, 2026. Each newly elected District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate will serve a two-year term.
