Top 'o the mornin' Sun Lakers from the Art League! Hope the rainbow leads you to your treasure and your artist's palette. Winners of our January mini art show are as follows: Classic Art: 1st place – Frank Bonarigo (acrylic); 2nd place – Georg Hauschild (watercolor); and 3rd place – Susan VanLoon (oil). In the Miscellaneous Art category we have 1st place – tie: Lee Munday (mixed media) and Jim Cochran (photography); 2nd place – Suzanne Strauss (pen & ink); and third place – Pattie Rogers (pour painting). Congratulations to all the winners pictured below. We look forward to seeing more member art at our next meeting. This month's meeting will be on Sun., March 8 at 2 pm in the North Clubhouse. Our February artist, David Fairrington was unable to teach our February classes due to health issues. Thank you to Marcy McCallister for stepping in to do decoupage/mixed media classes. We will feature an artist new to the Art League, Deborah Wick, this month. She will be at the meeting to demonstrate and teach watercolor. Classes will be on March 9, 16, and 23 in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room. Class fees are $30, members and $35, non-members. Please come to the meeting; meet our guest artist, enjoy some refreshments, and share the camaraderie of those who enjoy art. Everyone is welcome! Let March be the month you shed your winter skin and bloom into the artist you were meant to be. 30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2026 | Art League "Achill Horses" by Mary Harriet Mainie Jellett, 1897-1944. Jellett was born in Dublin, Ireland. She was one of the rst Irish female painters whose abstract paintings were exhibited in Ireland at the Society of Dublin Painters Group Show. Her work was inspired by the Analytical Cubist works of Paul Cezanne. Works reect her exploration of color, rhythm, and form through abstraction.
