If you are expecting company, Grandma's Closet stands ready to help make your little ones' visits a bit simpler by loaning out items they might need. Please don't be complacent: If you have kiddies visiting, make reservations now so you don't get caught short. Some items are very popular! We maintain a list of individuals who have items available for loan, including their contact information and the specific items they wish to share. When someone inquires about borrowing, we will provide this list so that the donor and recipient can arrange the details. These loans are intended for our residents' visitors. Borrowed items (excluding car seats, strollers and car booster seats) are not to be taken out of the village or used by anyone other than the borrower. If you have items to loan out - such as strollers, car seats, carriers, Pack'n'Plays, high chairs, books, toys, games, or puzzles - please email Naomi at NaomiBKatz@iCloud.com and/or Rich at redcisc@ gmail.com. Be sure to include the items, their age-appropriateness, and your name, address, phone number, and email address for inclusion on the list. Should you find yourself in need of an item or two, please reach out to Rich or Naomi, and we will send you the list. Additionally, if your visiting grandchildren have left behind items, you won't need for a while, consider offering them for loan at Grandma's Closet. If you have clothing or furniture for babies or children that you can't store or use, please let us know. We would be happy to deliver them to Father Joe's Village, which is always needed. Where did the time go? Your Board is hard at work making sure 2026 will be a year to be remembered with entertainment that is creative, humorous, fun, meaningful, unusual, exciting, educational and thought-provoking. We ask all new residents to join us – perhaps, even those with musical talents! Fred Heath & The Sidewinders were great. Think we should invite them back? On March 2, Carlsbad High School Visual and Performing Arts Department will present comedy vignettes from their current production, Something Rotten. Created by Grammy Award- winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick, and successful screenwriters Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell, Something Rotten was lauded by audience members and critics alike, receiving several Best Musical nominations and hailed by Time Out New York as "the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years." The show is free to members, $10 for non- members. Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the performance at 7 pm. Upcoming events: April 6, Anita Simons' Playreaders will present original works from her arsenal of personal and AI plays. This production is open to the community with no charge for anyone. We are anxiously awaiting a date to share North County Children's Choir and Civic Youth Orchestra with you. Keep your eyes and ears tuned to your email and tube to keep up. All members are welcome to join the Theatre Arts Wednesday classes, which meet from 1 to 3 pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Actors' Workshop is now being led by Ed Hutsell (edhut411@gmail.com), and Playreaders is led by Anita Simons (ASimonSays@gmail.com). Please check your emails each month for dates, topics and room assignments. Our next regular Board meeting will be held March 18, at 11 am, in a room to be assigned. Regular Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am, and are open to all Theatre Arts members, so please do come and join us. Join Theatre Arts so you can participate in all of our entertainment and activities. Our annual dues are $15. With that small amount, you will enjoy all membership privileges.
