4 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | APRIL 2026 By Kathy Caraher, SDV Board of Directors Do you ever get brave and open the online Solera Diamond Valley website to look at options besides the Lifestyles Events or Community Calendar? You might find the information you've been wondering about regarding topics such as RV parking rules, how to choose the color of paint for your home, or what to do about the neighbor's barking dog. For an adventure, go to www.soleradiamondvalley.com and check it out. e section that caught my eye was the one entitled "Governing Documents." Here you will find essential information and the infamous CC&Rs, which are the legal, defined rules of the community. But if you prefer to read about the pressing issues many residents need quick answers for, check out "Rules and Regulations - Section III." In this section entitled "Maintenance Covenants and Use Restrictions," which are supplemental to the CC&Rs but are more specific to day-to- day living, you might find your answers. ese are the issues that fall under "Community-Wide Standards of Enforcement." Each item, if not specifically clarified, will then refer you to the correct section of the CC&Rs, helping you navigate to further information. I hope you learn something new or at least find clarification for any questions you may have. What's on that SDV Website Anyway? By Wendy Bolduc, Chairperson DRC With the arrival of spring many of us decide to make improvements to our homes. As part of your planning we recommend you start by first checking the Design Guidelines. ese are available at the Front Desk or on the community website under Governing Documents. e Table of Contents provides a reference to the section addressing your planned improvement. Reviewing this document will save you time in finding if your project requires a Home Improvement Application (HIA), as well as the specific requirements to ensure compliance. e purpose of the Design Guidelines is to assure homeowners of continuity in design, preserving and/or improving the appearance of the community, protect property values, and enhance the overall architectural environment of the community. ey not to inhibit individuality and creativity. e committee reviews the guidelines annually in October and welcome suggestions and recommendations to any section or items in them. Important Dates: Deadline for HIA submittal is 4 pm on the Wednesday before the scheduled DRC meeting. We meet the LAST Wednesday of the month with some change at the end of the year due to holidays. Check the community calendar. For fastest turn-around be sure your application is complete! We also recommend sending your completed HIA as close to the deadline as possible. If you submit your application on the first of the month it will be three to four weeks before it is reviewed. Plan accordingly. FAQ: is time of year, many of our applications are for painting and artificial turf. Question: Do I need to submit an HIA if I am repainting my house the same colors? Answer: Yes. is is for property record purposes (see guideline 1.3.1) Question: What if I want to just change the trim color or door of my house? Answer: Our homes have an approved color scheme by address. e front office has a binder with swatches for your address. Assuming you select one of the colors in your scheme it will comply. Other colors will not be permitted. If there is another homes' color scheme you like better than yours, you may apply to repaint the entire home using another scheme. Question: Do I need approval to install artificial turf and is there a particular kind I must use? Answer: Yes. While there is not a particular brand there are length, weight, warranty, and other requirements thoroughly specified in the guideline. If you cannot find what you are looking for in the Design Guidelines check first with property management, then feel free to contact any of us on the committee. If we do not know the answer to your question at once, we will be sure to find out and get back to you. Please see the back of e View for information about the DRC and the member list. A Spring Reminder from the Design Review Committee (DRC)
