| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2026 | 15 How to Donate Books to Our Libraries One way to support the Sun Lakes Country Club libraries is by donating books you've enjoyed and are ready to share. Your contributions help us keep our collections current and responsive to the needs of our community. We accept fiction books whose publication dates are within the last 15 years in three categories: mystery/thriller, romance and general fiction. Focusing mainly on popular fiction allows us to make the best use of our limited shelf space. Please check the publication date on the copyright page before donating. We also accept a limited number of books with older publication dates in our special collections categories: nonfiction, biography/ memoir, sports, military, wellness & inspiration, classics, and westerns. We have a growing need for audio books on CD and large print books. As an aging community, many of our residents experience changes in eyesight that make standard print difficult to read. Large Print books and audio books help ensure that everyone can continue to enjoy reading. We gladly accept Large Print books even if they are more than 15 years old, provided they are in good condition. We maintain special Large Print sections in three libraries: the North Clubhouse, the South Clubhouse, and the Paperback Library in the Main Clubhouse. You can identify Large Print books by the green stickers on their spines. Books should be clean and free from damage, missing pages, and heavy writing. We do not accept coffee table books, foreign language books, travel books, technical books, textbooks, or cookbooks. If you have qualifying books to donate, please put them in a bag or box and leave them in or near the grey plastic tray labeled "Donations" in any library except the Hardback Library in the Main Clubhouse. Library Advisory members regularly review donations and put selected books into circulation. Thank you for helping keep our libraries accessible, current, and enjoyable for all residents! ~ Laurel Stanley, lvstanley@gmail.com Library Advisory Sun Lakes Committee Reports If you have experience in finance, investments or management of operations please join us.
