FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2026 7 By Cindy Graves We are starting April with one of our most popular events: The "Shred-It" event. The event is April 4 from 10 am to 2 pm and will take place behind The Lodge Ballroom. As you're cleaning out your year-end paperwork for tax time, bring your bags or boxes over for shredding. There is no limit on how much you can bring, but be aware that when the truck is full, the shredding event is over. We have never had to end without everyone being taken care of; however, at our last event, we were right up to the brim of the truck. Speaking of our last event, be very sure that you know for sure what is in your bags and boxes. We had an exciting situation with a retired police officer who submitted several boxes of documents along with bullets he didn't realize were in the boxes. Evidently, batteries and bullets are known to blow up the whole Shred-It truck. Now that event would be a "blast," but not the good kind. On April 17, we have our Appreciation Luncheon for all of our volunteers. If you have never been on a Four Seasons committee or served as a Board member, you have no idea how much time and investment these wonderful volunteers put into contributing to the community. Especially the Board of Directors who basically have the opportunity to run a multi-million dollar corporation (the HOA) for free! What a debt of gratitude this community owes to their amazing friends and neighbors who are committed to keep this place the best 55+ community in Southern California. Please be sure to offer big thanks to your neighbors who serve as volunteers or if you're really friendly, give them a big hug or pat on the back! I love these folks; they're the movers and shakers! The HOA Garage Sale is April 18 from 8 am to 2 pm. It's perfect for spring cleaning. If you are interested in participating, come on down to The Lodge and pick up your garage sale application. The last day to turn in your application is Friday, April 10. This is so we can get a garage sale map made for the treasure hunters. The price is still only seven dollars. What a fun way to help others clean house! Karaoke will be starting back up again on April 18 at 5:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. Karen Belcher will be the new Four Seasons KJ. And she's excited to step into the position. I do want to give a big applause to Dave and Janine Rohrbacker who led the Karaoke festivities for years and emboldened many a shy singer to grab the mic and give it a try. They have been absolutely amazing … speaking of incredible volunteers who just want to invest and give back to the neighborhood; that's them! It's now their turn to be a participant and just enjoy the company of friends. Be sure to thank them when you see them. It'll be fun to see what Karen has planned, so be sure to come down and support her as she gets started. Have a wonderful April walking in gratitude for all the extraordinary people we have in our lives who do so much on our behalf. While you're at it, take a second look around the block and be thankful for all the beauty around us, after all, it's spring! ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR'S REPORT For many months now, the Ad Hoc Website Committee has been working on a website upgrade. We have vacillated between a minor upgrade and a full-on overhaul. Although we are still considering the overhaul, for now, we've elected the minor upgrade. This upgrade is primarily designed to provide a better presentation on mobile devices. You will see changes to the initial display page, and the follow-on pages will be more uniform in appearance. We plan to introduce the new functionality in early April. The website will be unavailable for only a few hours. Our vendor is also making major changes to the resident directory. Although the new directory structure will not be available for admin review until the upgrade is complete, here are some of the features the vendor is advertising: • Users get to choose individual profile fields • Each person using the website is required to have his/her own unique login • User names must contain only "standard" characters As we gain more information about the features in the updated website, we will share them with you, the residents of Four Seasons Beaumont. Although we anticipate a smooth upgrade, please bear with us if issues arise. In conjunction with the upgrade of the website, we will be providing an enhanced approach to our website appearance and functionality. The Ad Hoc Website Committee is changing to a formal subcommittee within the Communications Committee. The subcommittee chair is looking for residents who are interested in maintaining and improving our website. Please contact me if you're interested in joining the subcommittee. ~ Kirk Freyermuth, kafreyer@frontier.com Upgrading the Community Website
