36 | LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2026 | RV GROUP "Living the Good Life at Coachella Lakes RV Resort" The Solera RV Group camped at the beautiful Coachella Lakes RV Resort in Coachella, Calif. in February. Coachella Lakes RV Resort offers 351 full hook-up RV campsites and eight fully-equipped camping cottages. Six RVs (13 people) and one couple staying in a cottage enjoyed the RV resort complete with six lighted pickleball courts, an 18-hole PGA level putting course, three hot tubs and two pools. The resort has a small store, gym and clubhouse with a bar. There is a dog park and five small lakes with catch and release fishing. We started our camping experience at Coachella Lakes with a wonderful shrimp and sausage boil hosted by Richard and Joleen Carlson. To our Bon Appetit friends, we wish you were here for this amazing dinner. Additional dinners by our talented RV Group chefs included a spaghetti casserole, BBQ pork tenderloin, a potato cheese soup and a breakfast brunch. At the end of our stay, the RV group went out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in nearby Indio. The weather was near perfect with temperatures in the 90s. Winter time in the desert brings out the large hot air balloons in the morning. Several people in our group took morning walks, while several others basked in one of the two resort pools. There were mini excursions to local casinos, thrift stores, and the Palm Springs Air Museum. Joleen Carlson led the group in making diamond art. We welcomed Mike and Sally Schroeder to our fun little group. Mike is the father to Jeff Schroeder, the ex-Smashing Pumpkins rock group guitarist (applause please). Mike and Sally own a beautiful 2025 Forest River Forester Class C motorhome. This is one beautiful rig. We enjoyed our stay at Coachella Lakes RV Resort. The resort is very well maintained. There are many places to visit in the Coachella Valley during the winter. One place we didn't get a chance to see was the BMW Performance Center West in nearby Thermal. It's often referred to as BMW's West Coast proving ground. It's a must see for car and driving enthusiasts.
