FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2026 23 Be prepared to go. Four Seasons Beaumont residents must practice safety daily to be prepared for when they need to evacuate their homes. ey need to keep from hurting themselves. ey should take a minute to be mindful before taking action. Residents may help themselves by being prepared. Keep your go-bag on the kitchen counter or near the door. If we are asked to evacuate, you cannot be running around looking for stu that should be right at your ngertips. Check all of your utilities before leaving. If you notice any gas or water leaks, shut them o at the valve that serves the house. If you do not have any leaks, you may continue to leave. You may want to have a couple of cases of water and a bag of snacks in your vehicle. A couple extra pillows and blankets would also help. You also must prepare your body for all this activity or have someone to assist you. I am not sure what you call it, but I used to suer some stiness in my hips and I moved like an old man. I was lucky to have someone at the gym who taught me a way to use the leg-press machine to loosen up my hips. I am not telling our residents to visit the gym, but I am telling them to loosen up before trying to load your vehicle. We got a reminder recently about how quickly wildres spread. A re burned the eastern edge of Moreno Valley and just north of Lake Perris Campground. e re could easily have burned toward us with just a simple shi of the wind. at re should remind us that we should be prepared to go. Now is the time to review your evacuation plan. Cal Fire has six Ps and they are the following: • People and pets • Papers, phone numbers, and important documents • Prescriptions, vitamins, and eyeglasses • Pictures and irreplaceable memorabilia • Personal computer, hard drive, and disks • Plastic (credit cards, ATM cards) and cash Remember so stretch, have a plan, and a packed go-bag. Review your evacuation plan. Be exible enough with your plan if you need to change directions. We meet on the rst Tuesday of the month at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room. e next meeting is Tuesday, May 12. ~ Michael A. Mendoza, srmendoza@verizon.net Safety Committee SAFETY 4 "ALL" SEASONS Our committee continues to do the necessary work to remove all the paperwork and membership fees for dog owners in our community to use the Canine Corral. It is taking more work than we originally thought. But we are making progress. We are ready to send the information to the Board of Directors for their review. If approved, the information will then be sent to all homeowners notifying them of the changes. If all goes smoothly, we should open the Corral for use by all residents in June, by the latest. The Community Planning Committee's sub-committee continues to do research on a new site for a dog park/Canine Corral. As residents age, the current location becomes more difficult to use because of lack of parking and the slope of the area. This process also takes time and changes, if any, will probably be sometime next year. We realize not everyone is interested in a dog park. However, many are and often their dog is the only companion they have. These dogs are treated like a family member, not a pet to be kept in the backyard. A dog park is a social gathering area to meet new and old friends while the dogs play off-leash. The dog park is another amenity in the community, like ping pong, cards, pickleball and more. Not everyone uses all of these, but many do and they all increase the opportunity for socialization and friendships. ~ Martha Franck, Co-Chairman, (714) 345-8588 Canine Corral
