4 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MAY 2026 By Steve Patrick, BOD Treasurer During our Open Session meetings, I provide a high-level overview of the previous month's financials, focusing on the areas of most general interest: Operating Income vs. Operating Expenses, the status of our Reserves relative to our year-end goal and utility costs. All the data I share is available on the SDV website under Financial Reports. The Income Statement section is probably of most interest to residents, it details our monthly income and the expenses required to maintain our community. This section also compares actual expenses against the monthly budget. While individual items will f luctuate above or below budget throughout the fiscal year, the Year-To-Date figures provide a picture of how things stack up at this point in our fiscal year. It is important to note that a current variance does not necessarily predict the final year-end result. We are fortunate that our Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) does such an excellent job creating our fiscal year budget. If you recall, after the year-end audit for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the FAC's projections were off by less than $1 per household. For those interested in more granular data, farther down the reports also include General Ledger details. Granted, this section may not be as interesting as the Income section. I encourage you to review these Financial Reports every so often to stay informed about our community's finances. Message from the Board By Georgeann Wellfare, Veterans & Friends Club Secretary This Memorial Day, we invite you to join us for an afternoon that blends remembrance, gratitude, and good old- fashioned community spirit. Our Memorial Day Fundraiser & Silent Auction is Monday, May 25 at 11 am and is more than just an event — it's a chance to come together in honor of the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. Guests can look forward to an enjoyable day filled with great food (brats, jumbo hot dogs etc. and our popular saloon), laughter, and a little friendly bidding. Our Silent Auction will feature a variety of unique items and experiences, perfect opportunities to take home something special while supporting a meaningful cause. Whether you're eyeing a must-have item or just in it for the thrill of the bid, there's something for everyone. But beyond the auction tables and social hour, this event carries a deeper purpose. Every dollar raised helps support veterans' programs, community services, etc., ensuring that the legacy of service and sacrifice continues to make a difference right here at home. So come raise a glass, place a bid, and share in a day that honors our heroes in the best way we know how — by coming together as a community. Envelopes to sign up for the luncheon portion of the event will be in the Lodge lobby. Cost for the luncheon is $10 per person. Let's make this Memorial Day not only a time of remembrance, but a celebration of unity, generosity, and gratitude. We will once again have our Field of Remembrance to make a donation in honor of a loved one no longer with us. Veterans & Friends Memorial Day Fundraiser & Silent Auction
