| LIFE IN SOLERA | MAY 2026 | 25 Elevated Pairings – Wine Meets Cuisine The April Bon Appetit wine pairing event was a huge success. Members enjoyed a detailed and educational presentation by Gary Stoh from the Solera Sippers Club on the art of wine and food pairing. A review of taste profiles such as acidity, tannins, and body was provided, along with an explanation of complementing versus contrasting flavors. For example, Sauvignon Blanc paired with lemon-herb chicken amplifies shared bright notes, heightening lift and freshness. There was also a helpful discussion on common pairing pitfalls and how to fix them. Members enjoyed charcuterie cups filled with delicious meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts alongside their red or white wine selections. Wine terms and flavor avenues were provided on each table for guests to review and reference throughout the event. Thank you to the set-up, clean-up, and decorating committees for once again making this event a huge success. Your efforts are truly appreciated! Our next meeting is Fri., May 1, when we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a catered lunch from Tacos and Beer, along with sangria and margaritas. If you're interested in joining Bon Appetit, please contact Patty Meinhardt, President, at (909) 723-3847. We have great events planned for the entire year! BON APPETIT CLUB The Spring Cookie Decorating class was next level! The cookie artists created beautiful designs featuring honey bee hives, f lowers, bumble bees, mason jars filled with blooms, and intricate honeycombs. This class truly tested everyone's patience, as there were many steps required to achieve these stunning cookie creations. Students learned new techniques, including using an edible marker to draw the bees' f lying formations and adding delicate sugar honey bees. The piping techniques used to give extra detail to each cookie were also challenging, but everyone rose to the occasion. Each participant did a fantastic job! Our next class is Wed., June 24 at 2:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room, where we'll be decorating Fourth of July themed cookies. For more information, contact Patty Meinhardt at (909) 723-3847. We will then take a break for the summer, with classes resuming in October for some spooky Halloween fun. COOKIE DECORATING CLASS The April Bon Appetit wine pairing event was a appreciated!
