June 5 Party With evenings warming up and longer summer
days ahead, Doo Wop returns to the Lanai and outdoor dancing
under the stars on June 5. Grab your favorite hat – whether it's a
spring bonnet, cowboy hat, a fascinator, or a decorated golf cap –
and join the fun, because it's Crazy Hats night!
Cool Rush, a favorite five-piece San Diego band, one of partygoers'
favorites, will rock the dance f loor at the Lanai with a mix of rock,
pop, Motown and country. Leading the band are brothers Bill and
Jim Rieger, who focus on recreating the original sound of songs,
explicitly avoiding pre-recorded tracks or backing tracks. They just
performed a huge gig at the Flower Fields.
The June party follows the wildly successful Superheroes dance
in May, where crime fighters mingled with Iron Man, Captain
America and other comic book icons while Smokin' Guns' sets kept
the good times rolling.
If you're looking for high-energy tunes that will keep you on
your feet or you just enjoy listening to great live music, don't miss
the June 5 event. There are still a few days left to drop off your
checks and fill out the registration form at the front desk, but time
is running out. Members, $19, and guests, $25. Check in starts at
5:30 pm and the band plays from 6 to 9 pm.
